November: An Early Season Splitboard Gallery

After early November dumps in the Paific Northwest, there was rain--snow--and rain. Indeed, 'variable' seemed to be the word of the day near every day. But this didn't stop us from heading to the mountains--from peeling apart our skins for the first time and venturing out in search of powder turns and alpine relief.

This gallery represents a month spent away from the hordes, deep in the Mt Baker, WA backcountry and a little taste of the snow that continues to fall at Eaglecrest, AK. From the first weekend of November and light snow atop light coverage to the deep, stable days mid-month, and the wind-scoured alpine of late November, it's a look at a month in which we returned to the mountains to find our legs, some turns and the company of close friends--and proof that any day in the mountains is a good one... no matter how variable it may be.
